Volunteers and their good deeds

“Goryachie serdza” have constantly helped senior citizens of Belgorod together with Social Security Department.

“Nowadays, the voluntary work becomes more and more urgent, – lots of people need help and support. Many elderly people have no relatives, so they need volunteers and their help. The students share their energy, skills and knowledge on their own accord”, – said the third-year student of BelSU Institute of Engineering Technology and Natural Science Vladimir Lipyakovskiy.

The latest campaign has been carried out within a month; thirty volunteers have visited elderly people at 12 addresses: they washed the windows, cleaned the flats and helped with the housework.

“I live alone and can’t do the windows after operation. It is cold, and the draught was terrible, but the kids did everything properly, diligently. I liked it, thanks for the help!”, – said Svetlana Gubareva, a senior citizen of Belgorod.

The activist of Volunteers’ Office of Medical Institute Farmacy Department Natalia Prokuschenko said: “We believe that our work is very important, even though it is simple. The helping makes us feel happy”.

The house working help is one of Office’s major activities throughout three years.
