Volunteers against HIV

This year, the event was organized as part of Anti-Selfdestruction Month “Healthy is Trendy” from the 9^th of November till the 9^th of December.

Volunteers’ organization “Goryachie Serdtsa” has made a poster exhibition “Say NO to HIV”, distributed leaflets with anti-HIV information and organized “passing the hat” charity collection to help low-income HIV-positive families. Vice-principal for Culture and Education of BelSU Svetlana Ostrikova also took part in the event. She said, that annual World HIV Day helps and inspires the struggle against HIV pandemia.

Due to “Healthy is Trendy” Month all Institutes and Departments of BelSU will take part in anti-HIV events.

The World HIV Day was celebrated for the first time at the 1^st of December 1988 after the call at the meeting of world health care ministers for social tolerance and informational exchange of information related to HIV.
