The first game of Dorm Olympics between fellow-countrymen communities took place at Belgorod State University
During the academic year international teams would compete in strength, agility, logic, stamina, precision etc. Ten international communities would strive for the first place: African community, Turkish community, Brazilian community, Vietnamese community, Ecuadorian Community, South-East Ukrainian community, Chinese community, Indian community, Russian and Arabian communities.
The Dorm Olympics was opened by vice-rector for culture and education of BelSU Svetlana Ostrikova.
“The first kind of sport at the competition was streetball. It is a game for three-players teams at one half of a basketball field. The fight has been intense from the very beginning, all players did their best”, – said the director of BelSU sports club Vladimir Rudenko.
The players of Chinese community became “the kings of streetball”. The second place went to South-Eastern Ukraine. Africa became the third, and Turkey – the fourth.
The teams eagerly fought for the prize places. Some of them got equal amount of points, so the winners was determined according to difference in number of goals and missed balls.
The Dorm Olympics has just started, so it is just a beginning of a real fight. The following trials are on the way: swimming, chess, mini-football, volleyball, table tennis and track and field athletics.
