The students organized a “POCHITAYEM Solzhenitsyna” (“Let’s read Solzhenitsyn”) event at Solzhenitsyn’s monument at Nobel Prize-winners’ Alley near BelSU
At 11th of January Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn could celebrate his 97th birthday. To remember his heritage the students of BelSU Institute of Pedagogy History and Philology Department organized a “POCHITAYEM Solzhenitsyna” (“Let’s read Solzhenitsyn”) event at Solzhenitsyn’s monument at Nobel Prize-winners’ Alley near BelSU. It became a conclusion to “The Writers’ living word” project by History and Philology department. According to the organizer of the project, assistant professor of Philological Subdepartment Elena Shirina the event has united no only students but also the teaching staff of the university.
“It is always essential to know not only writers, but also their works. This event is a suggestion to read one of the most famous Russian wwiters, – Aleksandr Isayevitch Solzhenitsyn”, – she said.
For this day the students made leaflets with the quotes from Solzhenitsyn’s works and handed it out near BelSU at Studencheskaya street. In the end, they’ve laid flowers to the writer’s monument at Nobel Prize-winners’ Alley.
