Students and teachers of BelSU discussed with specialists the problems of copyright and open access to scientific knowledge
A round table conference “Open access to knowledge and values” for scientists, journalists, young researchers, teachers and students took place in BelSU.
The conference was organized by Association of Internet Publishers together with BelSU PR Department as a part of “Public Domain” project, oriented on search of consensus about open information access between state and public. As a result, the project will gather opinions of key Russian universities including Belgorod State University.
Journalist, researcher and head of MSU Faculty of Journalism New Media and Communication Theory Subdepartment Ivan Zasurskiy, PhD, journalist, teacher and editor of “Nauchniy Correspondent” Alyona Gorodetskaya and coordinator of “Public Domain” project Natalia Trischenko have arrived in Belgorod to take part in a conference.
The experts spoke about the Association and paid special attention to originality of term papers and graduation works. Graduation works’ regulations would become more severe beginning with 2016 to prevent plagiarism.
«Graduation work is your first book. The person, who managed write it, can write books. It is very important for the journalists, so all diplomas should be published openly, with open access to them. So everyone can clearly see the source material the author used, – said Ivan Zasurskiy.
An editor of “Nauchniy Correspondent” Internet-portal Alyona Gorodetskaya told the audience about the project where everyone can publish the work with copyright. All graduation works would be listed at libraries’ catalogues. The site also serves as a social network.
