Prof. Anthony Lupo from University of Missouri gave a lection on climatology to the students of BelSU Mining and Natural Resource Management Department
Prof. Anthony Lupo teaches at Soil, Environmental and Atmospheric Sciences Department of University of Missouri. He has studied climatic processes for twenty years and is recognized as one of the leading experts in climatology. At BelSU Prof. Lupo gives lections in English for the students of BelSU Mining and Natural Resource Management Department due to the cooperation treaty between universities.
He told the audience about blocking anticyclone and its characteristics. He mentioned that atmospheric blocking can shape the weather in a region during the whole season.
Prof. Lupo has also showed a map of atmospheric effects, dynamics of blocking in northern and southern hemisphere, the center of anticyclones’ forming etc. and statistical data demonstrating the origin of blocking effects.
