A roadmap for three-side cooperation between BelSU AO “Veropharm” and Abbott Laboratories GmbH was signed at BelSU
The Principal of BelSU Prof. Oleg Polukhin, CEO of AO “Veropharm” and executive director of Abbott Laboratories GmbH Sr. Klaus Witte signed a cooperational roadmap for education and science.
The meeting with representatives of “Abbot” and “Veropharm’ took place at BelSU. The sides have discussed development of cooperation. The Principal of BelSU Oleg Polukhin thanked the case manager Dr. Klaus Witte for the work on previous treaties.
“By joining forces of specialists fr om BelSU, “Abbot” and “Veropharm” we could bring into life our previous agreements on pre-clinical studies: we implemented an Engineering Center project, where the vivarium is almost ready for work. Cooperation development is very important for us, because we look toward new scientific and educational challenges”, – said The Principal.
Cooperation with leading pharmaceutical companies will allow BelSU to improve practice-oriented education. Operational director of “Veropharm” Leonid Kogan has told about educational project the company developed together with the Pharmaceutical Institute. He also mentioned cooperation with India and possibility of future internships and student exchange programs.
The Dean of BelSU Institute of Medicine Pharmaceutical Department Irina Spichak told about the Department’s cooperation with “Abbot” and “Veropharm”.
“We sent our students to the facilities for practice. 10 students completed the practice, three of them were employed. Thanks to our cooperation we can not only teach students but also provide their employment”, – she said.
Leonid Kogan said, that the company plans to open new industrial site wh ere the students can work. It also plans to organize a based subdepartment.
During the discussion of roadmap events, the sides made agreements on priority directions of cooperation, such as new laboratories and based subdepartments at “Veropharm”, along with the opening and licensing of vivarium at BelSU Botanical Garden.
