Regional volleyball tournament among women’s student teams

The tournament was attended by teams of Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law, Belgorod State Agricultural University named after VY Gorin; Belgorod Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian n.a. ID Putilin; Borisovskaya Children and Youth Sport School; Korochansky Children and Youth Sport School and Belgorod State National Research University.

Pro-Rector for cultural and educational activities NIU "BSU" Svetlana Ostrikova welcomed the participants, honorary guests and supporters, noting that the Belgorod State University had trained a lot of outstanding athletes and teachers.

Honorary guests of the tournament were graduates of Physical Education Faculty of BelSU, famous volleyball players: Alexandra Korukovets, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in volleyball, silver medalist of the 2004 Olympic Games, winner of the World Grand Prix, the world champion and two-time European champion among juniors, two silver and a bronze medalist Russian championship and Larisa Sycheva, master of sports of Russia in volleyball, Olympic champion in 1994 among juniors, junior world champion, two-time silver and bronze medalist of the championship of Russia.

Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture Igor Nikulin in his speech noted significant achievements of BelSU women's team in sport at a national level.

Matches in groups preceded playoffs.

Teams of the Belgorod Law Institute of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs n.a. ID Putilin and Korochansky Children and Youth Sport School will compete for the fifth place. For the third place will compete teams of Belgorod State Agricultural University named after VY Gorin and Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law. For the first – teams of Borisovskaya Children and Youth Sport School Youth and BelSU.
