The gym for Greco-Roman wrestling was solemnly opened at BelSU Social and Theology Department. The revival of classical wrestling was initiated by the Principal Oleg Polukhin, Masters of Sports of USSR and Russia Anatoliy Fuglayev and Sergei Fuglayev, who made a significant contribution to development of Greco-Roman wrestling in Belgorod Region.

The coaches have already gathered four groups. Every day more than 60 children and teenagers train here for free.

Oleg Polukhin greeted the guests and told about the history of this idea:
‘’In May 2016 we hosted an inter-regional Greco-Roman wrestling competition at Svetlana Khorkina Sports Complex and made an agreement about special gym for the university. Several months passed, and it is ready. It is not the last gym we plan to open. We plan to engage our students, boys and teenagers in sports wrestling, including Greco-Roman wrestling”, – he said.

Sergei Fuglayev thanked the Principal for the help and noted that new gym in a project of social significance for the training of future Olympic champions.
