Genetic collections of agricultural cultures’ breeds would be created at BelSU Botanical garden

The I Science and Practice International Conference “Plants selection: past, present and future” was also dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous plant selection breeder Zoya Schelokova’s birthsday.

The leading scientists, researchers, teachers, postgraduates and students, representatives of agricultural enterprises, agricultural business, departments and state institutions of Russia and foreign countries.

The participants presented 53 reports from more than twenty research universities and institutes of Russia, Ukraine, Belarussia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The reports considered problems of general and particular plant selection and history of selection as a science and teaching subject.

The participants agreed that it could be necessary to develop genetic collections of agricultural cultures’ breeds creation program at BelSU botanical garden to promote agricultural and applied science.
