The team of BelSU Institute of Law became one of the best at the national stage of Philipp Jessup Contest
The contest has a form of mock trial – the model of UN trial. The students represent the claimer state’s side and respondent state’s side. The judges are representatives of legal firms, foreign teachers and professional judges of international courts. This year the theme of the contest was human rights.
International team from Belgorod consisted of postgraduates from Administrative and International Law Subdepartment A. Pasenov, Sanka Mohammed and masters of Inernational Law course Akinbodeva Oluvateniolla, Nasandratra Laurita and Inangorore Melissa. The coach of BelSU team Elena Safronova.
“We made the great amount of work, – said Sanka Mohammed. – We have trained since September and presented our university successfully. This is a great experience for future lawyer, because we would need to prepare documents, speak and convince”.
In 2016 the team of BelSU Institute of Law received a diploma of the best team from non-capital university. This year prestigious prize went to Akinbodeva Oluvateniolla, who has become the best player of the non-prizewinner teams.
