The first deputy minister of Agriculture of Russian Federation Jambulat Khatuov, governor of Belgorod region Eugeniy Savchenko and chairman of OOO “GK Agro-Belogorye”’s board of directors Vladimir Zotov opened genome selection research center at BelSU
The center is a joint project of BelSU’s scientists and “Agro-Belogorye” company group; it was presented to the directors of National Hog Breeders Union.
Main goal of the center – introduction of molecular genetic technologies into the agricultural sector of the country. It will accelerate selection and pedigree work in livestock breeding, crop farming and microbiology.
Genome Selection Center was created at Population genetics and genetic toxicology laboratory of BelSU, which has been conducting research of molecular and genetic technologies in agriculture. The center got new grounds and modern equipment.
The Center’s research is conducted by highly qualified specialists in molecular genetic technologies from BelSU and OOO “GK Agro-Belogorye”.
