Starting the enrollment campaign

More than 60% of the Belgorod school graduates and enrollees from all regions of Russia and dozens of the countries of the world choose BelSU. According to the rector of BelSU, this year the university assumes to gain about six and a half thousand new students, including 2100 enrollees on the budgetary places.

“We analyze labor market, and follow the list of TOP PROFESSIONS which will be in demand in the near future, made by the Ministry of Education and Science. We also prepare for adding new specialties. This year we open new bachelor degree specialties: “Media Communication” and "Biotechnical systems and technologies” and "Physical Processes of Mountain and Oil and Gas Production" direction for a specialist degree program. For Master degrees, we open "Pedagogical education. Scientific and methodical support of educational programs in the field of the fine arts", – the rector said.

He has noted that this year BelSU, as well as all higher education institutions of Russia, has made indexation of fees for all courses considering 4% inflation. There are federal standards of educational fees, which cannot be changed by the higher education institution. For national research universities the standard is much higher, than for usual higher education institutions, but there are options of a discount at the expense of own means of higher education institution.

Speaking about quality of education in BelSU Oleg Polukhin has emphasized that the higher education institution and its graduates are highly praised by independent experts and employers. It is confirmed by ratings and the level of graduates’ employment – more than 80%.

In the national rating of Interfax Belgorod state national research university keeps the 19th place among the leading higher education institutions of Russia. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation BelSU also enters the Top 20 of the best higher education institutions of the country, and from 29 national research universities takes the 13th position.

Oleg Polukhin has noted that this year the university will graduate about five thousand specialists in various fields of work. According to preliminary analysis, no less than 20 percent of them will graduate magna cum laude.

In conclusion of a press conference the rector has noted that for the last five years the university has invested more than one billion two hundred million rubles in development of infrastructure.
