The results of one of the most prestigious ranking ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2017 (ARWU) was published on 28th of June. 12 universities of Russia, including BelSU was included in this ranking for the first time
1409 universities of the world have got to a final part of rating.
8 of 12 Russian higher education institutions which have entered rating are participants of the Project 5-100 according to which by 2020 not less than five Russian universities have to be presented in one hundred the best higher education institutions of the world according to three leading world rankings – Shanghai, QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education.
“This year we have entered ARWU for the first time in "Metallurgical Engineering" in "Physical Sciences" section and took positions 76-100. We are among four Russian higher education institutions which have entered TOP 100, – the rector of BelSU professor Oleg Polukhin has commented. – In 2013 we have developed and adopted the competitiveness enhancement program among the leading world scientific and educational centers. We look for improving the positions in Shanghai and other world rankings ".
"Metallurgy" is one of 52 subject categories, only 200 of 500 have entered final rating. Besides BelSU, MISIS, the Tomsk State University, the Ufa Aerotechnical University and MSU have entered it.
