An amphitheatre was opened in the botanical garden of Belgorod State University

The event was attended by Federal inspector for Belgorod region Alexander Zakorzhevsky, Belgorod region Governor, honorary Professor of BSU, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University, Evgeny Savchenko, the mayor of the city Konstantin Polezhaev, principal of BSU, doctor of political Sciences, Professor Oleg Polukhin, the members of the Federal Assembly and State Duma, members of the government of the Belgorod region, Belgorod principals of universities, employees and students of BSU and the universities of Belgorod.

The amphitheater is located in the Western part of the Botanical garden, near a forest area and a pond. There is a parking area, a ticket service and a pedestrian walkway in this part of the garden. The area of the amphitheatre provides a convenient stage, "backstage" space for artists and musicians, and 300 seats for spectators. Now, the amphitheater will become the venue for the "Coincidental meetings" together with the Belgorod state Philharmonic society music project, as well as other cultural and educational events.

The opening of the amphitheatre coincided with the closing of the season "Coincidental meetings". Near the amphitheatre was organized an entertainment area. Everyone could appreciate the playground for music, song and dance, play ball, badminton, frisbee, table tennis and chess.

The official part began with a speech of the Belgorod Philharmonic soloists, laureates of international competitions Oksana Menshikova, Eugene Dobrov, Ivan Belysh, chamber choir, under the direction of Elena Alekseeva and the concert orchestra of wind instruments under the baton of Yuri Merkulov. The band has performed the song: "Forever a great country ".

The Governor of the Belgorod region Yevgeny Savchenko began his speech with welcoming words and greetings to the participants of the ceremony. He thanked the government of the region, the mayor of the city Konstantin Polezhayev, the rector of the NRU "BSU" Oleg Polukhin and Director of the Belgorod Philharmonic Svetlana Baruch for creating beautiful recreational areas for Belgorod.

– Beautiful recreation and educational area, I mean Botanical garden and beautiful performers of works – all this creates a unique harmonious space. I am very glad that there are a lot of young people. That very presence makes this beautiful place a little more harmonious. I would like the University Botanical garden have a lot of visitors, not occasional visitors but paragon people and I wish they’ll receive a great energy! – said Yevgeny Savchenko.

The mayor of Belgorod Konstantin Polezhaev noted in his speech that the city is changing and improving, and this occurs due to the comprehensive support of the regional government.

– Today we see dynamic changes of Belgorod, there are many recreational facilities. I think that this place will become a venue of many cultural events and celebrations. Today the Botanical garden is already a place of attraction, and soon it will be another jewel, the object, where the citizens will enjoy their rest. Congratulations to all of you! – said Konstantin Polezhaev.

The opening of the amphitheatre in the Botanical garden "BSU" was held in the eve of important events of Belgorod: September 10, elections of the Governor. One of the candidates for Governor is acting head of the region Yevgeny Savchenko. Professor of the national research university "Belgorod state University" Ilya Isayev marked the agent of a candidate for the office of Governor of Belgorod region Yevgeny Savchenko in his speech. Ilya Isayev congratulated all those people on the holiday and noticed that the brightest pages in the history of "BSU" were written with the strong support of Yevgeny Savchenko. He urged all people to take part in elections of the Governor of the 10th of September and make the correct choice, which will depend on the further development of our region and the welfare of Belgorod.

The principal of “BSU” Oleg Polukhin told about the project of the amphitheatre.

– I would like to thank the Governor of the region Yevgeny Savchenko, who three years ago, while visiting the Botanical garden, proposed a number of ideas regarding the development of the Botanical garden. By the way, almost all of them are implemented today. Then the Governor proposed to organize musical evenings in the open air. Today, the "Coincidental meeting" with music are popular in Belgorod. The appearance in the Botanical garden of this cultural space is important because it enhances our ability in creating the social space for the city residents and guests of Belgorod. There is no greater happiness than to participate in the transformation of the environment in which we live, and which depends on our mood and our life. We are all participants in this process and we see how quality of life gets better! – said Oleg Polukhin.

Gala concert delighted the audience with classics and hits. Concert orchestra of wind instruments performed well-known songs of the band "Queen". Creative collectives of the youth cultural center BSU: art-Studio "Veresk", "31-th region", the ensemble of sports ball dance "Belogorodka", Studio of modern dance "Dance of Chaos" presented the guests with beautiful songs and colorful dances.

The celebration ended with fireworks.
