BelSU was included into Association of the classical universities of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China

The ceremony of creation of Association was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets and the Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of People's Republic of China Liu Yandong.

“Creation of this Association — one of striking examples of aspiration of our people to good-neighbourhood cooperation and new high-quality changes in education” — Olga Golodets noted.

The congress of Association and Forum brought together more than 300 people including representatives of the office of the Governments of the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Province of Guangdong, Shenzhen, delegations of 20 Russian and 68 Chinese universities. BelSU was represented by the vice rector for the international cooperation Vladislav Kuchmisty and the head of the international cooperation department Mikhail Pisarenko. Participants discussed development of partnership between Russia and China in the field of the higher education and science, support of young talents etc. Following the results of a congress the Charter of Association was adopted and its structure is created.

During stay in the People's Republic of China the delegation of BelSU visited Dechzhou state university, –the partner university since 2003. Representatives of BelSU held a number of working meetings with colleagues from partner higher education institution concerning further strengthening and development of bilateral interaction, met the Chinese participating students of joint educational programs and also students of BelSU, students in partner higher education institution on exchange.

Representatives of the Dechzhou university congratulated BelSU on entry to the Association of the classical universities of Russia and China and noted high importance of bilateral academic cooperation. For a contribution to development of the international activity in the scientific and educational sphere by the management of the Chinese higher education institution made the decision on appointment of the rector of BelSUOleg Polukhin as the honorary member of Council of the Dechzhou university.
