Belgorod state university praises the Worthy ones

The celebration has begun with a ceremony of delivery of a “Dostoinomu” ("Worthy") medal to the best graduates of the university. This year the high award was presented to eleven graduates who have influenced academic, scientific and public life. Names of all worthy will be included into the Golden Book of BelSU’s graduates.

“You have already became an example for the next generations of students. And the medal will remind you that you are the most worthy, and to inspire you on new achievements. You are heroes, pride of our university. I urge you not to be satisfied with what has already been achieved and to improved constantly in the spiritual and moral development”, – said the rector of BelSU Professor Oleg Polukhin.

This year the new tradition has been started at the university – a ceremony of awards named after the outstanding natives of Belgorod region, scientists and educators Nikolay Strakhov and Alexey Pogorelov. These awards are awarded on a competitive basis in the Science and Education nominations for outstanding achievements to teachers and scientists of the university.

Congratulating winners of Strakhov and Pogorelov awards, the rector has reminded Albert Einstein's words that the science isn't and will never be the finished book.

“We continue to write this book, as our fellow countrymen have done, and we raise the scientists whose names will remain in memory of our descendants forever”, – said Oleg Polukhin.
