Dance festival took place at BelSU Cross-Cultural Communication Center
On the eve of opening of Youth and Students Festival-2017 (Sochi), at BelSU in the Center of cross-cultural communication the colourful and bright festival "Dances of the World" dedicated to the world festival of youth and students was held.
The action has allowed participants to become closer to the culture of different people of the world through the dance – an integral part of musical creativity, its history is inseparable from the history of all people. Cultural and spiritual life of the nation, customs, traditions, ceremonies, religion of each country find the reflection in dance.
The audience has learned what role dances play in various cultures: in the culture of the people of Africa dances are not just entertainment, but, first of all, a way of transfer traditions, rituals, legends and knowledge to new generations. Ukrainian folk art was greatly influenced by ceremonies, customs, celebrations, which are also in many respects similar to ceremonies of the Russian and other Slavic people; India – the country that honor cultural traditions, and dance is the cornerstone of Indian cultural aspiration. Activists of the International student's office have prepared a fascinating quiz to check participants’ knowledges on dances of different countries. Winners of a quiz have won sweet prizes.
Students of associations of Africa, Tajikistan, India, Armenia, Brazil and Latin America, have shown national dances of their countries, the student of Institute of cross-cultural communication and the international relations Yulia Makareykina has performed the Ukrainian dance, and the participant of studio of an oriental dance "A silver lily" Marina Kovalenko has presented the Tunisian dance.
