Students and teachers of BelSU greeted the delegates of XIX World Youths and Students Festival
At the festival which was attended by delegates of 188 countries of the world, the Belgorod State University was represented by more than 50 people. Organizers of a festival have prepared educational, cultural and sports events.
They tried to capture all fields of youth’ activity – all participants have been divided into thematic groups: future of science and global formation, ecology and health, new media, Civic Platform of development, international cultural space, economy for future development, global policy, future industries, aircraft and international railway system. Students of BelSU have taken part in all groups.
Each region of Russia has presented an exposition, which reflected its culture, traditions, and history. The delegation of Belgorod region has prepared the exhibition reflecting spiritual, historical and cultural traditions of the region. The student of Teacher training college Vladislav Shek has played for the national team of Latvia on a five-a-side tournament and for the national team of the World Football Tournament. The national team has won silver medals. Delegates from BelSU have participated in a symbolical running on 2017 meters and have hit qualifying standards of GTO.
Participants and volunteers have shared impressions about the latest festival.
“I took part in panels of Sberbank and Civic Platform of Development, - the student of BelSU Institute of Cross-Cultural Communications and International Relations Vasily Stojan has told. – I have attended Nick Vuychich, German Gref, Fyodor Bondarchuk's lectures etc. Every day there were from 400 to 600 events at Olympic venues. The main feeling I have now is gratitude”.
“The festival became one of the greatest events in my life, – the student of Psychology Department Anastasia Doborovich said. – My branch was called: "Global policy and its agenda: how to defend the peace". For me every day was filled with bright events. I learned something new for myself and, perhaps, about myself, drew conclusions and was charged with energy and motivation”.
“I turned my dreams into reality at the festival. I have visited panels where of the famous speakers from the different countries, I have attended exhibitions of regions of the country and other states. Days have passed quickly. I had a feeling that I became a part of this festival’s history, – the student of Journalism Department Valeria Nedosekova has noted.
“I worked at a festival as the volunteer. I was responsible for navigation of participants in the Main media center. I told participants and guests of a festival how to find this or that event. We had an excellent team, the excellent team leader and the supervisor, – the student Institute of Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations Tatyana Kulikova said.
“In 1985 my father has ensured safety at the XII World festival of youth and students which took place in Moscow”, – the student of BelSU Institute of Law, the volunteer of a festival Maria Pedko told. – Thirty two years later I became involved in such a large-scale event too. I was a volunteer; I met speakers at the airport and accompanied them to hotel. I managed to visit a ceremony of signing of the World charter of grateful people, lectures, robots battle, a tournament of the international intellectual game "What? Where? When?" and many other things”.
