BelSU will become a ground for international research in humane sciences

The vice rector for the international cooperation Vladislav Kuchmisty, the vice rector for quality and additional education Vladimir Shapovalov, the deputy vice rector for scientific and innovative activity Andrey Peresypkin, the dean of historical and philological department Andrey Papkov, the head of the general history department Nikolay Bolgov have participated in a meeting.

Welcoming the German guest the rector of BelSU Oleg Polukhin has noted that at the last meeting with Tassilo Schmitt in University of Bremen the prospects of closer interaction of two universities in the field of the humanities have been designated.

“We approached that moment when it is possible to speak about a new round of our cooperation. Now our scientists have developed the road map on creation of BelSU international center of historical researches of neighbourhood and identity problems. And today there is an opportunity to discuss how we will interact further and who will join us for the task”, – Oleg Polukhin said.

Tassilo Schmitt has expressed gratitude to the rector of BelSU for support of scientific ideas and has expressed readiness to cooperate with the Belgorod state university.

“I am glad to visit your university for the third time. We have already defined questions on which solutions we will work. I cooperate with colleagues from the German higher education institutions and I am very glad that this cooperation extends, and thanks to the Belgorod State University the possibility of carrying out researches at the international level appears”, – Tassilo Schmitt said.

The dean of historical and philological department Andrey Papkov has reported that in the field of the offered perspective – the neighbourhoods and identities – BelSU has already conducted researches, professor Schmitt has been involved in. A lot of things are made by his colleagues of the German higher education institutions.

“Creation of the international research team, joint cooperation will yield effective results. And the first step in our interaction is carrying out the international student's school "Persona et verbum: in limite, sine limitibus" ("Personality and image: on border and without borders") with participation of professor Schmitt. In the spring of next year we will hold a seminar at BelSU, and at the end of 2018 our participation in a student's conference which will take place in University of Bremen is planned. Our cooperation will create conditions for carrying out the international researches”, – Andrey Papkov said.

In the end of the meeting the rector of BelSU has suggested professor Tassilo Schmitt to become the member of the Belgorod State University scientific magazine History series.
