Students of BelSU Institute of Engineering Technologies and Natural Sciences got the third place at the International biological university contest
The strongest representatives of higher education institutions of Russia have met to battle in scientific fights and to show the knowledge and abilities in the field of biology at the annual International biological Universiade of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
69 teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Tula, Chelyabinsk, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Sevastopol and other cities have participated in a Universiade. Students from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Iran also participated in the event.
Two stages of a Universiade: individual and project took place at the Biology Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. At the first stage each of participants needed to solve a number of difficult biological tasks; in a project tour team project on a solution of specific problem needed to be submitted to the jury consisting of professors of Moscow State University.
Team of BelSU from Institute of engineering technologies and natural sciences: Margarita Kononova, Evgeny Seliverstov, Alina Grinko and Alexander Bylchenko has taken the third place in the section "Ecology, Biotechnology of Microorganisms, Plants and Animals". During the performance they have proposed innovative solutions on release of genetic material from skin cells, creation of independently working body parts with use of 3D technologies – bioprinting and to the subsequent preservation of the received material in polymeric gel.
