The Alumni Association of Belgorod State National Research University has some new members. Three of our international graduates became full members.
These certificates were awarded to, Luis Fernando Andrade Muñoz from Ecuador, and Erineltu Casimir and Karsul Jorge Kete from Angola, who are now official representatives of the International Alumni Association. Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Dr Mikhail Trubitsyn, Deputy Pro-Rector for International Cooperation, and Dr Tatyana Nikulina, Director of the Department of Social Policy, attended the presentation ceremony. While awarding the certificates, Dr Kuchmisty addressed the graduates, saying,
"We are proud of you, and I believe that you are also proud of the university where you graduated, and with which you have maintained a relationship. We very much hope that with your participation and enthusiasm we will gain many more faithful friends like you. Remember that you are members of our big, united family.”
Dr Trubitsyn emphasised the invaluable experience students receive at university, which helps in later life, and went on to say that graduates are a subject of pride for the university, where we celebrate everyone's achievements and successes.
Graduates also thanked the management and teachers of BSNRU for the opportunity to obtain a quality education. Señor Muñoz said,
“Now I'm studying Regional Economy at graduate school. I finished the preparatory faculty here thirteen years ago. Many Ecuadorians aspire to study in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but by studying here I came to understand that the best conditions for students are here in Belgorod.”
Senhor Casimir and Senhor Kete were informed about the opening of an Angolan forum, which will be held at the University in April with the participation of Angolan and Russian students, teachers from the University and representatives from the Embassy of Angola. The forum will be devoted to scientific research as a factor in the development of science and education. Sr Casimir iterated his plans for the future, saying,
“We want to share what we gained here, and share our experiences. Our last forum was devoted to the employment of students after graduation from Russian universities. This year we will publish a compilation of the results of that work.”
Dr Nikulina noted the role of the Alumni Association in achieving socially useful goals, as well as the development of the university, and spoke about the benefits and opportunities that are open for the graduates who join the Association. She emphasised that,
“The activity of the Alumni Association is aimed at bringing together and promoting contact between graduates of all generations, as well as the development of partnerships and friendly relations.”
