In accordance with our agreement on academic cooperation, Professor Arkady Sedykh visited the University of Cergy-Pontoise in France, a strategic partner of Belgorod State National Research University.
Professor Sedykh, head of the Department of German and French Languages at the Pedagogical Institute's Faculty of Foreign Languages, intensified cooperation between our two universities. The visit took place within the framework of a new agreement on academic cooperation between us and the University of Cergy-Pontoise, which is one of the leading institutions of higher education in France. Professor Sedykh consulted with Dr Marie-Laetitia Basarab Brancovan and Dr Olivier Belin on the implementation and improvement of the Joint Master's Double Diploma program.
Professor Sedykh gave lectures, took part in conducting laboratory and seminar sessions, and held seminars devoted to scientific research in joint educational programs. This sort of cooperation, and the interest shown by both sides, is a vital factor in encouraging the exchange of experiences in the realms of scientific research and issues involving the university's training of highly qualified personnel.
The visit also included negotiations with the leadership of the University of Cergy-Pontoise as represented by Fatima Zelazel, Vice President for International Relations, and Joëlle Gury, Director of International Relations. The two sides discussed how best to activate professional and scientific research internships, academic exchanges of students at the bachelor's level, and joint modules in the Master's Double Diploma program.
Discussions on ways of creating and launching a joint laboratory for philological research were also held with Professor Christophe Rey, the head of the Linguistics Laboratory at Le Centre national de la recherche scientifique (The National Center for Scientific Research).
