Young scientists from all over Russia presented their scientific work at the 16th Pan-National Exhibition for Final Year Students, which was held at the end of March within the walls of the oldest technical college in Russia, The St. Petersburg Mining University.
This year more than 200 graduate students took part in the conference, representing 30 technical universities throughout Russia. Ekaterina Pogoreltseva, Ivan Kryuchkov, Dmitry Lepetyukha and Konstantin Ponomarenko, final year students of the Department of Applied Geology and Mining at the Faculty of Mining and Natural Resource Management, were delegates at the conference and represented BSNRU in the competition.
Their reports included the subjects of prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits, economic mechanisms for innovative development, energy efficiency in mineral and raw materials complex production, environmental protection, and building construction, as well as other topical issues.
Three out of our four students took third prize in their categories, Ms Pogoreltseva for 'Prospecting and the Exploration of Mineral Deposits', Mr Kryuchkov for, 'Integrated Development for Solid Mineral Deposits and Mining Safety, and Mr Lepetyukha for 'Modern technology in the construction of buildings, structures and facilities in mineral and raw materials production facilities'.
