The Institute for Social and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Belgorod State National Research University organised a joint conference of Research Centres in Moscow.
The Institute of Social and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISPS RAS) hosted a National Scientific and Methodological Conference on 'The Main Trends in Religious Change and Secularisation in Russia in the 21st Century'. The conference was organised by the Centre for the Sociology of Religion and Socio-Cultural Processes (part of ISPS RAS), the Scientific Centre for Eurasian Integration, and the BSNRU Centre for Sociological Research (led by Professor Inna Shapovalova, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, and Head of the Department of Sociology and Youth Work Organisation), and Dr Yulia Sinelina, Deputy Director of ISPS RAS, a well-known Russian scientist.
More than fifty leading Russian scientists took part in the Conference. All are specialists in the sociology of religion and related branches of sociological and religious science. Professor Sergey Lebedev, Head of the Sociology of Religion and Culture research group at the Institute of Management, gave a report to the plenary session addressing the specifics of the modern approach to the sociological study of religiosity.
