A Delegation from the Institute of Cross-Cultural Communication and International Relations (ICCIR) has visited two Spanish Universities.
The BSNRU delegation was led by Professor Olga Prokhorova, the Director of the ICCIR, along with Professor Jerome Baghana, the Deputy Director for Scientific and International Affairs. The visit was aimed at establishing contacts with universities in Spain, and conducting negotiations on agreements for cooperation.
They visited the Pamplona campus of the (Private) University of Navarra where they met Professor Rosalia Baeno, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr Ignacio Gil Sáenz, Director of the Spanish Language Centre, Dr Eduardo Negueruela-Azarola, Director of Educational and International Affairs at the Institute of Spanish Language and Culture, and Dr Luis Javier Arrieta Sevilla, Deputy Director of the Faculty of International Law. Among the topics for discussion were cooperation, in particular academic mobility for teachers and students, teaching Spanish, and cooperation in scientific research.
The delegation continued on to the University of Granada, where they met with Dr Carmen Caballero Navas, the Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Director of the Centre for Language Policy, Dr Enrique Quero Gervilla, Director of the Russian Language Centre, and Dean of the Faculty of Translation, Dr Wenceslao Martín-Rosales, Director of the Centre for International Training, Dr Artur Schmidt, Director of the Centre for International Relations and Projects, and Dr Domingo Barrera Rosillo, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics.
An agreement between the University of Granada and BSNRU was signed at that meeting. It provides for cooperation in academic mobility for teachers and students, cooperation in education and science, and for teachers of Spanish from the University of Granada to come to BSNRU. In future, the Universities plan to start a Master's programs which will offer Double Diplomas.
