BNRU Establishes Ties with Serbia

Under the auspices of BNRU's policy of promoting our scientific and educational potential abroad, Professor Evgeny Kozhemyakin, Head of the Department of Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, visited the Centre for Russian Studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences in Serbia.

His lecture was about the 'Construction of National Identity in Political Discourse'. Among his audience were students and undergraduates from the University of Belgrade, teachers from the Faculty of Political Science, and researchers from the Belgrade Institute of Political Studies.

Professor Kozhemyakin's lecture generated keen interest among those present, and afforded him an opportunity to propose scientific cooperation with the Centre for Russian Studies in Communication, Media and Discourse research.

The most significant result of this trip, was an agreement on the participation of staff from our universities in joint scientific and publishing projects, as well as in the joint hosting of an International Conference on the 'Discourse of Modern Mass Media in Theory, Practice and Social Education', which will be held in October 2018 here in Belgorod. The Institute for Policy Studies, also from Belgrade and the Department of Slavic Studies from the University of Bergamo in Italy, will participate in the conference alongside BNRU and the University of Belgrade Faculty of Political Sciences. Our Serbian colleagues also expressed interest in developing joint educational programs with BNRU.
