BNRU and the Don National Technical University (DNTU) conducted the 2nd Interregional Competition for Translators
The BNRU Pedagogical Institute's Department of English Language and Teaching Methodology and DNTU's Department of Scientific, Technical Translation and Professional Communication hosted and organised the Competition. About 40 students from the Pedagogical Institute's Faculty of Foreign Languages took part, with contestants able to submit their work in one or multiple categories.
BNRU sent Professor Alexander Amatov, Dr Olga Babanina, and Dr Tamara Timoshilova, from the Department for English Language and Teaching Methodology, to be on the jury. Dr Ksenia Rakova, from the same Department, provided special assistance and helped to organise the event.
Victoria Khalanskaya won first place in the Poetry Category (she also won in the Contemporary Writing Category). Alexander Kovshov was a winner in the same Category. Darya Sushchenko achieved second prize, with third prize going to Karina Zaytseva. Victoria Lugovaya won in the Prose Category with Bogdan Brozhko coming second, and Darya Everstova picking up third. In the Contemporary Writing Category second place went to Anastasia Malyarchuk, with Marina Nosova placing third.
All participants received certificates.
