The University sent delegates to the 7th Siberian Conference on New Educational Technology '#EdCrunch Tomsk 2018'
Dr Vladimir Belenko, head of the Electronic Educational Technology Department, and Dr Sergei Nemtsev, Director of the Centre for Online Education, attended a course on 'The Development, Promotion, and Implementation of Mass Open Online Courses' along with 182 higher education colleagues from various regions of Russia and further afield. The course and the conference were hosted by Tomsk National Research University. The study centred around examining the most successful Mass Open Online Courses, both in Russia and abroad. They learned about existing methods and technology used in developing and promoting courses, as well how to use online courses to supplement and implement educational programs.
Following the course, Dr Belenko and Dr Nemtsev joined over 1600 other professionals in the largest International Conference on New Educational Technology. The conference was devoted to the development of the Russian electronic education industry. 150 experts from leading scientific and educational centres in the Russian Federation and abroad, discussed the main trends in 'e-education', focusing on the use of advanced technology for individualising education, and training specialists for the digital economy.
The conference was conducted with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science as part of their priority 'Creation of a Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation' project.
