Senior Indian Dentists Visit BNRU

Professor Girish Parmar, Director of the State College of Dentistry and Ahmedabad Hospital, and Dr Mit Ramatri, a leading paediatric dentist, took a tour of the facilities and learned something of the training methods used by our medical lecturers. This stimulated a discussion on the prospects for cooperation in dentistry. Our guests were hosted by Dr Alexander Mamatov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Informatisation, Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Dr Nikolai Belousov, Deputy Director of the Medical Institute, Dr Alexander Tsimbalistov, head of Dentistry and Deputy Director of Design and Innovation Affairs, and Dr Irina Spichak, head of Pharmacology and Deputy Director of International Activities.

Preliminary agreements on a Memorandum of Understanding were secured in joint research and training for graduates and postgraduates as part of an exchange program. Negotiations will continue after the visit.

After the conference and tour, Dr Ramatri then gave a lecture and demonstration on the subject of 'Tricks of the Trade and Techniques in Managing Early Childhood Caries', which was attended by more than thirty dentists, dental surgeons, residents and 5^th year students of dental surgery. Participants were accredited for attendance.
