A team from our University has placed 4th in the 6th 'CASE-IN' International Engineering Championship. This year's theme was Arctic Development
More than 500 students took part, coming from 55 universities across Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The competition is accredited by the National Youth Program for the purposes of promoting the energy industry. Entries were accepted in 6 categories: Geological Exploration, Mining, Metallurgy, Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals and Electric Power.
BNRU's 'Brainstorming' team had won the Regional competition in the 'Mining category. Maria Korneychuk and Ivan Fyodorov, both from the Department for Applied Geology and Mining, Vladislav Kidanov, studying at the Department of Geography, Geoecology and Workplace Safety, and Angelica Borzova, of the Department of Global Economics, took on 20 other Regional Winners in their category. They narrowly lost to the 3rd placed team from the Siberian State Industrial University. The first two places went to St Petersburg State University and Tula State University respectively.
This result proves the quality of teaching at our University and does credit to our excellent and talented students.
