Day of Russian tricolor

The tradition of celebrating the Day of the National Flag is one of the significant events in the life of the university. Every year on August 22 at the university square there is a solemn ceremony of flag raising, in which first-year students, teachers and university staff take part.

Vice-rector for cultural and educational activities Svetlana Ostrikova in her welcoming speech noted the importance and symbolism of this holiday:

“The Day of the National Flag reflects the unity and glorious history of our people, because the colors of the tricolor correspond with the basic principles of our state. White color symbolizes peace and purity, blue - expresses fidelity, constancy and careful preservation of centuries-old traditions, red color is the color of courage, dignity and honor. Respect for the symbols of the country is one of the manifestations of patriotism and citizenship".

To raise the national flag of the Russian Federation, the pro-rector for educational activities Alexander Mamatov was invited. Raising of a flag of the Belgorod region was entrusted to Vladislav Skibin, and the flag of the Belgorod State National Research University to the student of the first year of the Institute of Management Daria Fisunova.
