The 'Severny' Industrial Park hosted representatives from the Trade and Industry Ministry, Regional Government Departments, and BNRU for a discussion on the development of the pharmaceutical industry in the Region
The 'Biopharmaceuticals' group included Alexei Alyokhin, Director of the Department for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry at the Trade and Industry Ministry, Oleg Abramov, Head of the Regional Department for Economic Development, and Dr Irina Spichak, Director of the Institute of Pharmacy, Chemistry and Biology at BNRU. Mr Alyokhin started the meeting by introducing the state strategy for the development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry to 2030, saying,
“Belgorod Region has enormous potential in biopharmaceuticals. Serious players are concentrated here, able to complete the full cycle of production and synthesis of substances. BNRU provides a stream of development that can be introduced into production. Our task is to support this process.”
Mr Abramov said that the last three or four years more than ten production facilities have opened for business in our Region. He emphasised the important role played by the University, as a hub for biopharmaceuticals.
