Dr Stanislav Sivakov, Head of the Information Support and Analytical Research Department, Dr Elena Nazarenko, Director of the Centre for Cross-Cultural Communication, and Professor Oksana Vaganova, Head of the Department of Finance, Investments and Innovations of the Institute of Economics and Management, travelled to the Varna University of Management (VUM) in Bulgaria, through the Staff Exchange Program
The exchange started with a tour of the University, and continued with lectures on the theory of leadership and international trends in higher education, discussions and seminars around that theme, and a look at other cultural and educational programs. Our team attended a lecture entitled 'Towards an Entrepreneurial University', given by Professor Vesselin Blagoev, Vice-Rector of VUM. They then had the opportunity to exchange views on education with colleagues from different regions of Russia, as well as from Albania, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Argentina. Dr Sivakov then participated in a seminar for Junior Researchers led by VUM's Rector, Professor Todor Radev and Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Stanislav Ivanov.
Professor Vaganova noted that it was thanks to these Staff Exchange Programs that the Institute of Economics and Management has strong ties with a number of foreign universities. This allows our University to conduct the joint management of educational programs, which involve meetings and seminars at BNRU and at partner universities across the world.
