Dr Pavel Ngatheyo Akony Chany won a place on a prestigious course for international lawyers at the Hague in the Netherlands
Dr Chany, Assistant to the Chair of Constitutional and International Law at BNRU's Law Institute, won a grant to attend the Hague Academy of International Law over the summer. The Hague Academy is one of the most important world centres for studying international law. He was given the opportunity to shadow Judge Fatsah Ouguergouz of the African Court for Human and People's Rights, and attend various courses in public international law and related disciplines. The classes were taught in English and French by experienced judges, lawyers and diplomats from around the world. Dr Chany was also able to have meetings with judges from the International Court of Justice and visit international tribunals. He will now pass on this valuable knowledge to his students, and share his understanding in his academic work.
