Professor Sergei Zherebtsov, Dr Gennadi Salishchev and Sergei Mironov MSc, from BNRU's Department of Materials Science and Nanotechnology, contributed to 'Nanocrystalline Titanium', being published world-wide by Elsevier
Professor Zherebtsov was co-editor and authored two chapters, while Dr Salishchev and Mr Mironov co-authored chapters and made other contributions. The endeavour was international and involved all the leading experts in the field, including Professor Terence Langdon from the University of Southampton in the UK, Dr Ruslan Valiev of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University in Russia, Dr Sheldon Lee Semyatin from the University of Dayton in the USA, and Dr Hiroyuki Kokawa of Tohoku University in Japan. Professor Zherebtsov explained,
“This book sets out the most modern ideas on the evolution of the microstructure of technically pure titanium in the process of great plastic deformation. Methods for producing nanocrystalline titanium and the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties achieved are considered, and possible areas of practical application for nanostructured titanium are discussed. We hope that the information contained in the materials of the book will be useful to all professionals working in this field. The publication of this work will contribute to our University's recognition in the global scientific community.”
