BNRU placed first among local employers in the Regional 'Prepared for Work and Defence' (PWD) physical fitness and mental readiness competition
PWD is a state endorsed awards scheme which originated as part of the old Soviet Civil Defence program. These days, apart from its serious aims, it also serves as a fun way to assess your own well-being and physical fitness. It is divided into age categories and by gender. The current competition was for categories VIII (40-49) and IX (50-59).
The Section 'A' winner in men's Category VIII was Dr Alexander Voronkov, the Director of the Centre for PWD Testing at BNRU, while the Section 'B' winner was Dr Vladimir Drogomeretsky, from the Pedagogical Institute's Physical Education Department. In the women's competition, Dr Galina Zabnina, from the Institute of Economics and Management took 3rd overall.
Vladimir Zhdanov, a colleague of Dr Drogomeretsky, came third in Section 'B' of the Category IX competition. Another colleague, Dr Elena Arseenko took second place in women's Section 'B'. Keep up the good work!
