The National Research University Higher School of Economics hosted the inaugural 'National and International Politics and the Challenges of Modernity' national conference, aimed at inspiring students and presenting research. BNRU played a key role in its creation
Delegations from the regional offices of the Russian Association of Political Science's Council of Young Political Scientists came from Belgorod, Moscow, Tver and Tula, and 15 Regions across the Russian Federation. BNRU was one of the founding organisations for the conference, and a key organisers for this year's event. Ekaterina Kharitonova, Denis Gafurov, Anvar Mirsharipov, Bogdan Buzanov and Alexander Prikhodko made up the BNRU delegation. They are all 3rd and 4th year Political Science students, and Mr Prikhodko is the Chair of the Belgorod Regional Council of Young Political Scientists. The students had all written research reports, which will be published in the 'Nauka.me' research journal, and were able to meet fellow students and make contacts with influential people and organisations. The students were accompanied by Dr Irina Gukova, of the Department of International Relations, Foreign Regional Studies and Political Science. She acted as the mentor for the student delegation and joined the expert panel at one of the meetings on the subject of 'The Balkans – The Problems, Hazards and Future of Life Between Russia and Europe'.
