Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, attended a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's (SCO) National Committee of (Russian) Universities at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (PFUR), in Moscow
The meeting brought together interested parties from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its partner organisation Rossotrudnichestvo, as well as representatives from member universities. The meeting focused on how well Russian universities were doing in the implementation of the SCO Agreement, and on the development of priority areas of education and training for the future. The centrepiece of the meeting was a report by Dr Larisa Efremova, Vice-Rector for International Activities at PFUR. In her report entitled 'On the Development of Priority Areas of Training in the SCO', she gave detailed analysis on the amount students enrolled in joint educational programs in the 2017-2018 academic year. During a section on projects that welcome international students, she took time to speak about BNRU in glowing terms. She praised our University on its success in hosting the 3rd SCO Universities Youth Forum, which took place in May of this year.
