Anastasia Grecheneva, from Belgorod State University's Institute of Engineering and Digital Technology, went to the United Arab Emirates and picked up an award for her goniometric control system
The University of Khalifa in Abu Dhabi was the venue for the 'Signals, Systems and Computers' scientific forum. Ms Grecheneva, a Junior Research Fellow, demonstrated her system, which automatically measures angles of inclination of objects it is paired with. The system can be used in medicine, robotics, and geotechnology. It was designed to measure the tilt angles of buildings, which is particularly useful during construction.
Her work, and the work of others developing similar technology, is sponsored by a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, and the Innovation Assistance Fund's Technocrat Competition.
