An international scientific and practical online conference in English was held at BelSU Pedagogical Institute
An international scientific-practical online conference in English ‘Literary Heritage Expands Intercultural Communicative Horizons’ was opened by the Director of the Pedagogical Institute, Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor Victoria Tarabayeva and the Vice-Rector for Science of the Kyrgyz-Russian B. Yeltsin Slavic University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Valery Lelevkin. The conference was moderated by Daria Nikulina, a teacher at the Department of Foreign Languages.
Students of BelSU under the guidance of teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages prepared ten reports, which covered a wide range of world literature achievements. A number of reports reflected the results of linguistic-cultural, linguistic-cognitive and translational research activities of students over the past two and a half years.
Students from the partner university prepared presentations on the history and achievements of Kyrgyz literature, on the contribution to world literature of the famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, whose 90th anniversary was celebrated this year. The highlight of the online conference was the creative performances of Kyrgyz students: playing the national instrument and playing the song in their native language with subsequent translation into English.
Following the results of the international conference, students from both universities expressed their desire to expand English-language scientific contacts and to hold the second International Scientific and Practical Online Conference in English ‘Literary Heritage Expands Cross-cultural Communicative Horizons’ in 2019.
