Arm Wrestling Glory

The tournament drew athletes from 22 Regions, and winners were eligible for 'Master of Sport Russia' status, the third highest award for Russian athletes. Ms Reshetnik won her 65kg category with her usual panache, but the hero of the hour was Mr Vasilyev, a first year student, who won in the 80kg division and achieved his Master of Sport Russia status, joining Ms Reshetnik. There were silvers for Mikhail Kudryashov and David Shamey. All four of them are currently studying at BSU's Department of Physical Education. Alumnus Anatoly Zaporozhsky also took a silver home. In the team event, BSU beat a combined Moscow Regional Team and Tula Region into second and third respectively.
