In 2018, the leadership of Belgorod State University actively sought ways to unlock the commercial potential of the University's intellectual output. A recent meeting saw 12 projects approved for continued support
At a meeting of the Council for Research, Innovation and Production, Dr Igor Konstantinov, Vice-Rector for Science, gave a summary of the selection process and announced which 12 of the 17 submitted projects would continue to be developed in 2019. The process follows on from last year's program, entitled 'Strengthening the Intellectual Potential of Belgorod State University'. Of the 12 projects, 3 are already Centres of Excellence, with the remaining 9 being named 'Areas for Development'.
Professor Oleg Polukhin, Rector of the University, emphasised the timely nature of these efforts. He endorsed any effort to increase the commercialisation of our output as a group, suggesting that a modern university must develop income streams to continue to be able to grow, and stay relevant. The Council endorsed the Rector, and agreed to support the 12 projects as proposed by Dr Konstantinov.
