Professor Oleg Polukhin, Rector of Belgorod State University, met with Luis Fernando Munoz Andrade, a PhD student and graduate of our University, and appointed him our official ambassador to Ecuador
Mr Munoz Andrade graduated from our University with a Law degree, and is currently working on his PhD in the Institute of Economics and Management. He is a member of the Alumni Association of Russia and the Soviet Union. During his time with us, he has been actively engaged in promoting Belgorod State University in Ecuador, and is credited with persuading 50 students to participate in foundation courses last year alone. He is also helping with the University's Spanish website, and providing support for the on-line preparatory course in Russian language, hosted in Quito. Dr Vladislav Kuchmisty, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, praised Mr Munoz Andrade for his remarkable efforts on behalf of the University, and believes that the first official Ambassadorship for the University is extremely well-deserved. The Rector sees this as the fulfilment of the University's commitment to the 'Development of the Export Potential of the Russian Education System', a government campaign. He said that,
“We are interested in foreign students coming to study with us. We have always had a good relationship with Ecuador. Today, 200 Ecuadorians are studying at our University, from a total of 500 studying in Russian universities. It is very important for us that our graduates actively participate in promoting the University, and the benefits of an education here.”
It is hoped that the agreement signed with Mr Munoz Andrade is the first of many that will promote the University as a global brand.
