Belgorod State University's Dr Sergey Lazarev, was one of the experts gathered at Moscow State University (MSU), the home of the National Center for Digital Economy, for a meeting of the Center for Analysis and Storage of Big Data
The Center is a consortium drawn from many partner organisations, led by Rosatom, which include 5 scientific research centres, 10 private companies and 8 universities. Dr Igor Sokolov, of MSU, is the leader of the Center, and he welcomed the experts with a reminder that the storage and analysis of big data is closely related to artificial intelligence and machine learning, from a mathematical point of view. Dr Sokolov gave a recent lecture on this topic at our University.
Dr Lazarev gave a report on projects initiated at our University since the last meeting, namely: 'Technology for Ensuring Secure Storage and Access to Distributed Information and Computing Resources'; 'The Development of a Method of Multidimensional Analysis of Statistical Data Using Phenomenological Methods to Predict the Socio-Economic Development of Territorial and Social Entities'; 'Developing Tools for Implementing Natural Language Big Data Processing Systems'; and 'Designing an Information Infrastructure for Data Collection and Processing Systems based on Energy Efficient Radio Networks.' These project are being undertaken at our University's Centre for Scientific and Technical Information. Dr Lazarev elaborated,
“As part of the educational activities of the Centre, teachers and students will have access to modern training courses on processing and storing big data developed by the consortium members. The implementation of joint projects will contribute to the development of relevant competencies here, and lead to an increase in the number of specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, processing, and storage of big data.”
The meeting reviewed their progress so far, and gave consortium members an opportunity to discuss future projects and cooperation.
