University to Partner KPMG

The opening was attended by staff, students and local business people, and special guests. These included Dr Igor Polevoy, Vice-Rector for Economics and Finance, Viktor Zakharov, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management, Oleg Koposov, Head of KPMG Audit Russia, Natalia Kalutskaya, Director of the UNI Consulting Center, and Project Manager, Svetlana Kucheryavenko. Mr Koposov addressed those present stressing the importance attached to relevant experience by potential employers. He said that KPMG is involved in graduate recruitment and development, but that particular skills make a candidate stand out. Dr Zakharov outlined his belief that the Centre has the potential to turn into a fully-fledged branch of KPMG.

The agreement between the University and KPMG will provide consultancy services to individuals and businesses in tax and accounting, while also providing training programs for teachers and students.
