Dr Roman Travin and Dr Irina Gukova, from Belgorod State University, handed a monograph of their collected research to Vladimir Ivashev, a senior personnel manager in the Regional government. It is called, 'Modern Practices in Working with Youth'
The formal presentation of the work was part of a meeting of the Belgorod Regional Committee for Youth Policy, and individual social work departments from authorities across the Region. The meeting served as a review of 2018. The monograph aims to provide data and methodology useful to practitioners in the field, as well as anyone interested in the way that young people are engaged by the authorities in problem situations. In the course of their research they cited around 3,800 articles, making this work comprehensive and exhaustive. Mr Ivashev, who heads Youth Policy for the Regional government, was eager to underline the importance of close links between academics and field workers. His department was instrumental in gathering the data needed to complete the study, and the research was guided by social workers, whose experience was essential to completing the project. An electronic version of the work will be sent to the Region's social work departments.
