Science Week at Belgorod State University involved product demonstrations, quizzes, lectures, and master classes
Alexander Fadeyev, from the Development Corporation, gave a lecture entitled, 'Markets of the Future', and talked about the National Technology Initiative's work on FoodNet and HealthNet. Patent expert Natalia Toktaryova, lectured on intellectual property. Dr Natalia Mamatova, from our Department of Management and Marketing, conducted a business game called, 'Generating Innovative Ideas'. Her colleague, Dr Maria Lugovskaya, held a master-class on time management.
As part of the week, 'Biotechpharma-2019' was a competition where students presented 12 projects related to pharmacology, the agricultural industry, waste processing, functional nutrition, and biotechnology. The judging was done first by the academics, to test the scientific viability of the project, and then the industrialists, who assessed their appeal to the market. The three best were: Alisa Androsova and Anastasia Staneva's project 'Aquafab as a New Type of Raw Material in the Production of Confectionery Products'; Anna Halikova with 'Developing an Assortment of Figs from Apples with Nano-capsules of Medicinal Plants and Natural Additives'; and 'EcoFeed Feed Additive' by Elena Kuzubova. All received a free pass for Development Corporations 'Investment Showcase', and the opportunity to exhibit at the 'StartUp Land: Medicine, Pharmacology, and Veterinary Medicine' exhibition, which will be held in June 2019. The winners will also get to visit the Skolkovo Technopark.
