Dr Vladimir Palyulin took students from Belgorod State University for a tour of the Chemistry Department at Moscow State University in preparation for a series of lectures beginning in the autumn
The students are members of the Student Science Association, and are studying pharmacology, chemistry, and biology. The Chair of the Association, Evgeny Seliverstov, commented,
“We were especially impressed by 20 thousand-core processors of computers that model molecular structures. We also learned about a substance that enhances human cognitive abilities, one of the newest developments in the laboratory.”
Dr Palyulin, toured the students around the Department, demonstrating the work being done, some of the state-of-the-art equipment, and talked about life at the Department. He explained current projects, including research on the creation of new molecules with given properties, based on modern methods of molecular modelling and chemical data sets.
