Belgorod State University volunteers raised more than two hundred thousand rubles during the White Flower charity event
Educational institutions of Belgorod and the region, representatives of the regional authorities, heads of enterprises, universities, public organizations took part in the charity event. The opening of the event was preceded by a procession. Believers, student volunteers, members of volunteer associations took part in the procession from the university church of the Archangel Gabriel to the site in front of the Svetlana Khorkina Sports Complex of BelSU, where educational and social institutions of the region have installed their fair tents.
During the grand opening, the metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol addressed the volunteers. He recalled that the action "White Flower" is a revival of the former Russian tradition, the beginning of which was laid by the family of Tsar Nicholas II.
Deputy Governor Olga Pavlova thanked everyone who came to support the event, noting that only caring people gathered on the square, bright, ready to donate.
The White Flower charity event is held for the seventh time in Belgorod, and each time, according to the director general of the White Flower philanthropic association Mikhail Kosachev, several million rubles of raised funds go to help seriously ill children.
On the square in front of the USK Svetlana Khorkina, a fair and an exhibition and sale of products of craftsmen, students, and schoolchildren took place. Students, teachers, representatives of the administration and employees of BelSU took an active part in the “White Flower" charity event. University rector Oleg Polukhin visited the fair, examined the creative work of students and made a charitable contribution to the "White Flower". University volunteers treated the fair guests with honey cakes. All those who came could enjoy the performances of the creative clubs BelSU and the city, participate in master classes, a charity auction and, of course, make contributions for the benefit of those in need.
During the fair that day, volunteers of BelSU collected more than two hundred thousand rubles.
